January - February Program
After a very busy Cristmas period with lots of visitors and masses of entertainment from Camborne Town Band, Troon Singers, Les Graham and a trip to see the Newlyn lights to name but a few, we are now settling in to the new year and making plans for the last of the winter months.
Following on from one of our recent residents meeting, activities are very much focussed on in house events whilst the wind is blowing and the rain is being driven sideways across our local streets! Having said that I am pleased to report that we have over the past three weeks and against all odds still managed to take in a trip to the Gold Centre at Illogan and also carried out a number of one to one shopping trips which have been requested on a personal basis.
The rest of the current program – subject to weather looks something like this:
23rd Jan
Chinese New Year Lunch. Specially prepared by Jeanette. An opportunity to try something with an Oriental flavour.
24th Jan
General Knowledge quiz lead by Hayley. A chance to exercise the grey matter with tea and biscuits thrown in!
26th Jan
Eyes down and all that. Its bingo time with Janine.
27th Jan
A Burns night lunch. A chance to sample some haggis and maybe even a wee dram or two!!
29th Jan
Knitting circle returns after the Christmas break. Time to get the needles and wool out once again.
1st Feb
Back by popular demand – Play your cards right. Danielle as croupier!
3rd Feb
Pat the dog is once is again with us. A visit from one of the local volunteers from this well known charity complete with one very well behaved pooch.
